If you've been to our MSDN Roadshows ( approx 800 of you so far - thanks and thanks also for the feedback which we've gone through for Cardiff and London already ) or if you are planning to come along then you'll know that this year we're using cinemas.
This has some serious upsides ( which is why we did it );
- Huge screen.
- Tiered seating ( combined with (1) this means no-one has problems seeing what we're doing :-) ).
- Comfortable seating ( hey, you're sitting still for maybe 5-6 hours - previous venues have tended to use pretty uncomfortable chairs ).
And some downsides;
- Loading people to/from the cinema takes time.
- Cinemas tend to have nowhere to sit in their foyers.
and possibly some more.
One of the things that you might have spotted happening in the cinemas this time around is the displaying of some interesting new logos that have been drawn up in the UK office. Things like this;

Now, I have to admit that I was a little sceptical (who, me???!?) around these when I first saw them but I like their use on the Roadshow as they look pretty good in hi-res on those huge cinema screens.
My colleague Alfred introduced these and he has a whole bunch of them - some of which I've copied below for you to play with should they appeal;
I probably wasn't supposed to do that but what the heck :-)
You might have also noticed some little snippets of code pasted up on movie posters and so on around the venue. I don't have the actual snippets here but my version would be things like;
or perhaps;
or maybe;
or;
That kind of thing - just little bits that are meant to be a bit of fun to a dev and might raise a bit of a smile but would hopefully leave anyone else scratching their head.
Now...the thing that I heard on Friday in London was that one of the attendees said that he was thinking of having one of these logos tattooed onto his actual physical person :-)
So...if you happen to be that guy and you're really going to go ahead with that then let me know - I'm pretty sure we'd like to capture it on video.
Now...when it comes to this "Live To Code" thing - I've a sneaking suspicion that someone is trying to tell me something about the kind of lifestyle that I've been leading ;-)
