What do you call that operation where you take a piece of formatted text off the clipboard and you paste it into Notepad in order to wash all the formatting off it so that you can just paste it as Plain Old Text (POT) into some other tool?

I do this a lot and I call it format laundering.

Maybe you're a "Paste Special" kind of person and apps that have that are nice but I'm so used to format laundering that it's kind of second nature for me to do it even in apps that let me "Paste Special".
